Annual General Meeting



The Annual General Meeting (AGM) provides members with the opportunity to learn about the progress made by the Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) staff and board of directors over the year, identifies plans for the following year and gives members the opportunity to express concerns and/or ask questions.

In addition, the AEF Board of Directors election will also take place. All individual adult members in good standing are eligible to run for election and vote.

2018 AGM

Stride With Us, in conjunction with the AEF Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, March  24, 2018, 2:30 pm –  9:30 pm at Executive Royal Hotel & Conference Centre  in Leduc, AB.

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy informative presentations and a gourmet buffet dinner including cash bar. In addition, a silent auction will be held (value of $9,000 in items) with all proceeds going towards the purchase of an Emergency Livestock Handling Equipment Trailer for the Foothills region. This event is business casual attire and we will be celebrating with our members for AEF’s 40th anniversary and presenting our first recipients of the AEF Provincial Awards! We hope to see you there! Stride With Us – Silent Auction Fundraiser 

In the past years, we have all seen the effects that disasters have on our industry, from the 2013 Calgary Floods, the 2017 Fort McMurray Fires, to the recent wildfires in BC and Alberta. As AEF continues to work on our Alberta Equine Industry Emergency Preparedness Plan we thought 2018 would be the perfect year to raise funds to purchase an emergency livestock handling equipment trailer for a community in need, in Alberta.

This trailer will be used when disasters occur such as wild fires, floods and roadside accidents involving livestock. The cost of a trailer is close to $40,000, while a significant cost, they are also a significant resource when needed. Currently there are 16 trailers in the province and we want to add another.

Stride With Us is expected to draw 100 equine enthusiasts and we are providing an opportunity for individuals and organizations to be prominently featured in the event program, social media and event registration. In addition, each program will contain a “support our supporters” flyer listing contact details for all donors. The AEF will be holding a silent auction during this event to raise funds to purchase this trailer for the Foothills region.
