Dressage Canada 2008 Competition System Updates

Dressage Canada Affiliate Fees
The Dressage Canada (DC) Affiliate Fee, previously called DC Membership Fee, is
optional for all competitors at the Bronze (Primary) and Silver (Provincial) levels,
but is required for competitors at the Gold (National) and Platinum (Federation
Equestre International) level for 2008. The Fees remain unchanged from 2007 and
are as follows: Senior, $25; Junior, $15; and Associate, $15.
Competitors at the Gold and Platinum level must be either Junior or Senior affiliate
members of Dressage Canada. Senior affiliate membership with Dressage Canada
allows that individual to have voting privileges in Dressage Canada elections

DC Levy
Dressage Canada will launch a Levy Program in 2008. The DC Levy is a new fee for
competitors in 2008, and it will be charged to the competitor on their entry forms at
the Bronze (Primary), Silver (Provincial), Gold (National) and Platinum (Federation
Equestre International) level competitions. The levy is $7 per entry and will be
collected by competition organizers. Dressage Canada will use the funds collected
from this Levy program for domestic development with emphasis on provincial and
regional educational and/or development programs. Full details on the program will
be available on the Dressage website once they have been finalized.
The Levy fees collected by show organizers will be remitted to Equine Canada within
10 calendar days following the conclusion of the competition. Competition organizers
can expect to receive their levy submission form/invoice with their competition
package from their Provincial Sport Organization (PSO).

Rules
Until further notice, all Equine Canada sanctioned dressage competitions will use the
2007 Section E Dressage rules with one exception being for the 2008 Sport License
requirements. Competitors showing at the Bronze (Primary) level will require a
Bronze Sport License. To compete at a Silver (Provincial) competition, a Silver Sport
License is required. To compete at a Gold (National) level competition, a Gold Sport
License is required. Only members competing in FEI classes at Platinum (FEI
sanctioned) competitions will require a Platinum Sport License. Sport License fees for
2008: Bronze $20; Silver $60; Gold $100 and Platinum $150.
