We are proud to award the July 2019 Canter Away Current incentive to Alison Milton!

Alison Milton has been riding for over 20 years and teaching for over 10 as a certified Equestrian Canada/NCCP English Instructor.  She works primarily with recreational riders and riders who are new to dressage.  Her passion is helping horses and riders communicate more effectively with each other.  Whether it’s through dressage, mounted games and trail rides, or something between, she works with each horse and rider team to find the approach they like the best.

“I think maintaining my certification is important because the coaching program provides me with resources and information that helps me be a better coach.  I interact with both more experienced coaches and enthusiastic new coaches at clinics, and we can share ideas and information.  It also allows me to offer my students a quality program to structure their riding, complete with books for them to learn from at home,” says Alison.

AEF established the “Canter Away Current” incentive in 2016 in an effort to encourage EC/NCCP instructors/coaches in Alberta to keep current with their credentials by maintaining their first aid, background checks, memberships, and professional development. This incentive allows for a quarterly draw rewarding an EC/NCCP instructor/coach with a $200 Greenhawk Giftcard.
