Canter Away Current Coach Spotlight – Lauren Hines

Sep 6, 2018 | Uncategorized

The Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) is proud to award Lauren Hines, English Competition Coach from Calgary, AB the July 2018 Canter Away Current incentive.

Lauren has been riding since she was about 12 years old. She started in the Equestrian Canada coaching program back in 2004 right after graduating from Olds College. It was then that she learned she might actually be able to make a career out of something that she loved. Lauren considers herself to have been very lucky to have had great mentors along the way (Cathy Chalack , Trish Mrakawa, Sandy Alexander) and to have been able to travel to different countries to learn and grow.

Over the years being a certified coach has served her well. She has had the opportunity to use the many products available to her as a coach, such as the  rider level program to benefit her students. She has also gained new students from all of the great advertising that AEF does to support instructors/coaches. Lauren states, ” I am very proud to be part of this wonderful organization!”

AEF in partnership with CapriCMW Insurance established the “Canter Away Current” incentive in 2016 in an effort to encourage EC/NCCP instructors/coaches in Alberta to keep current with their credentials by maintaining their first aid, background checks, memberships, and professional development. This incentive allows for a quarterly draw rewarding an EC/NCCP instructor/coach with a $200 Greenhawk Giftcard.
