Event Details:

This intensive 4 day learn to coach camp gives participants the opportunity to spend 2 days with experienced coach developers mentoring. The camp itself is geared towards individuals that are looking to pursue future certification as an Instructor/Coach. Two days of the camp will focus on completing the modules from the NCCP Equestrian Theory Course:

  • Equestrian Teaching and Learning
  • Planning an Equestrian Lesson
  • Analyzing Beginner Equestrian Performance
  • Making Ethical Decisions in the Equestrian Environment

Participants will receive NCCP credit and certificate of completion as well as their own set of NCCP manuals to keep for future reference. The other two days of the camp candidates will prepare lessons plans and emergency action plans ahead of time for. Candidates will have the opportunity to have practical hands on time teaching their lessons to demonstration horses/riders in a mock evaluation setting with feedback again from the coach developer on ways to improve their teaching in preparation for the instructor/coach evaluations this will include lunging and analyzing performance. There will be limited space for this event to ensure candidates are receiving the best and most amount of feedback possible from the coach developer.
