AEF strives to provide funding to members in the community where budget permits.

Individuals
Funding opportunities available to individual members.
General Funding
Available to individuals who are attending provincial events and pursuing professional or educational development.
Deadlines:
- Applications are accepted between January 1 – April 30 of each year; successful applicants will be notified by May 31
- Applications are accepted between June 1 – September 30 of each year; successful applicants will be notified by October 31
Win Your Entry
Available to athletes competing in Wild Rose Competitions. Win Your Entry refunds (to a maximum of $100.00) of show entry fees for one competitor per Wild Rose show. All eligible entries received prior to the competition entry closing date will be entered in a draw to win their show fees!
Bonus entry:
- Follow @alberta_equestrian on Instagram
- Post a photo of you and/or your horse at a Wild Rose Show on Instagram
- Tag the Alberta Equestrian Federation in your Instagram photo
- Use #AEFWinYourEntry on your Instagram post
Pump Up Your Levels
Available to current Equestrian Canada (EC) certified instructors/coaches to encourage ongoing rider level testing in the province of Alberta.
Applications sent directly to eligible parties.
Deadline: March 31
Canter Away Current
Available to current EC certified instructors/coaches who strive to maintain a current status for a minimum of the 3 months leading up to the draw date.
Four draws a year for a $200 Greenhawk gift card in:
- January
- April
- July
- October
Member Referral Program
All AEF Members! Refer brand new members to the AEF and receive a credit of $5.00 per referral. Credits go toward the cost of the next calendar year’s membership.
To receive referral credits, the new member must submit your last name along with your AEF membership number when signing up.
Educational Scholarships & Bursaries
Available to current members who are pursuing an equine-related post-secondary education and who exemplify the objectives, vision
Clubs, Businesses, Equine Facilities
Funding opportunities available to Club & Business members.
General Funding
Available to clubs for clinics and events that assist their members with professional or educational development, club board member educational development or club facility improvements.
Deadlines:

Pay It Back – Wild Rose Official Funding
Financial support to Wild Rose Show organizers. Opportunity to apply for funding every year to help offset the costs of officials’ fees spent, associated with holding a competition. Applications are accepted in November for officials’ fees incurred during the year (certain criteria will apply).

Available to members who are organizing an equine event and would like to request non-monetary items from the AEF.

Shannon Burwash Awards
Shannon Burwash Awards for Leadership, Excellence, and Encouragement – for students attending a Canadian post-secondary studying agriculture, agribusiness, animal health technology, or equine veterinary medicine.
