Executive Director

It can be a challenge to work for organizations whose main purpose is to do something other than make a profit. How do you succeed? “It is not about the money; it is about being dedicated and committed to the social cause of those that support your organization and working toward collective goals.” Sonia has served as the Executive Director of the Alberta Equestrian Federation since May of 2007. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and an additional 15 years working within non-profit sectors. Her education and experience have allowed her to build valuable relationships with various levels of government, other non-profit organizations, communities and individuals that share common goals. In 2005, Sonia won Farmers Market Manager of the year for the Province of Alberta and, in 2006, Sonia won Farmers Market Manager of the year for North America. She accredits both of these awards to her continual desire to “work hard for those that she works for.”
